Viola's Greenwich Dress

Shakespeare in Love

This dress was the largest stitching project I had done as part of University of Kentucky's costume shop. I had learned directly under Natalie Maynard who introduced me to patterning for this dress. I patterned the dress's skirt! Our production of Shakespeare in Love gender swapped the roles (which made it more confusing on top of the gender bending already in the show). Therefore, the dress I made was fit for a man, which made the process very fun to learn. This was my first opportunity to fit a bodice or skirt for a male body.
